RBF won a Design for Excellence
Award from Southern California Edison for
the mechanical and electrical design for George
Washington Carver Elementary School in Santa
Ana.
RBF won a Project of the Year Award for
the design of the South County Pipeline
Project for the Santa Margarita Water District.
RBF added Advanced Geographic Information
System capabilities.
The Rancho California Water District GIS
Master Plan was begun.
1992
RBF acquired Sholders &
Sanford, a well established San Diego engineering,
planning, and surveying firm, and relocated
its Chula Vista office to downtown San Diego.
RBF opened a Ventura County
office in Camarillo.
RBF won a Project of the Year Award for
the BIGHORN Residential and Golf Course
Development in the Coachella Valley. This
was the site of the 1992 and 1993 Skins
Game.
1993
RBF won a Project of the Year Award and
Grand Award in Engineering Excellence from
the American Consulting Engineering Council
for its development of its exclusive visual
analysis process.
RBF also won Excellence in Transportation
Awards from Caltrans for the Newport Coast
Drive and Palm Desert Golf Cart Master Plan
projects.
The El Toro "Y" Interchange Design was
completed for the Orange County Transportation
Authority.

RBF celebrates 50 years of professional
service.
1995
RBF's Environmental Department received
from Caltrans an Excellence in Transportation
Award for Historic Preservation Cultural
Enhancement for Route 710 Pasadena Urban
Design Project.
RBF was selected to design a five-star
destination Resort in Sri Lanka.
RBF was selected as part of a Silverado
Constructors Team to design three segments
of the 26-mile Eastern Transportation Corridor
Toll Road Project in Orange County.
RBF received from CELSOC an Engineering
in Excellence Award for the Golf Cart Transportation
Program for the City of Palm Desert.
1996
Urban Design Studio becomes
a division of RBF.
RBF's Civil Engineering technology is exported
to Papau New Guinea for the country's first
master-planned community.
1997
RBF receives a Merit Award from CELSOC
for the Chocolate Mountains Cadastral Survey
Project completed for the U.S. Navy.
RBF expands to Arizona with the acquisition
of American Engineering Company - a prominent
Civil Engineering and Surveying Firm located
in Phoenix.
RBF expands to Nevada with the opening
an office in Las Vegas.
1998
RBF lends U.S. Engineering expertise for
a world class resort in Bali, Indonesia.
RBF ranked Number 106 of Top 500 Design
Firms in the Country by Engineering News
Record (ENR).
RBF, as part of the Saddleback Constructors
Team, was selected to design the Foothill
South Toll Road Project in Orange County,
California.
The RBF family met a significant
milestone in the growth of the Company in
October when the 500th employee joined the
Firm.
RBF began construction in December for the
14,500 square foot expansion of their building
at the Irvine location.
1999
RBF celebrates 55 years of Professional
Service.
RBF moves into expanded facility in Irvine
adding 14,000 square feet of office space
to the existing 45,000-square foot building.
