RBF Through The Years

1981
RBF was the lead engineer for the Orange County Performing Arts Center.
 
1982
William J. Frost retired after 30 years of outstanding leadership and dedicated service.
 
1984
Rancho California - First Project using computerized visualization.
RBF at 40 years

RBF celebrated 40 years of professional service with an all staff photograph.

 
1985
RBF opened another office in Temecula, within Riverside County.
 
1986

RBF opened a third office in the Coachella Valley, following its acquisition of the firm of Charles Haver & Associates.

CADD Drafter

CADD production began.

 
1987

RBF moved from Quail Street to its present location at 14725 Alton Parkway in the Irvine Spectrum.

RBF became one of the first known engineering firms in Orange County to use Macintosh computers for graphic design.

Anaheim Wetlands

RBF won a Project of the Year Award from the American Planning Association for its design of the Anaheim Wetlands Project.

John Wayne Airport Freeway Ramps were designed.
 
1988
Traffic

RBF acquired Herman Kimmel & Associates, a long-established traffic engineering firm.

RBF opened a fourth office in San Diego County.
RBF began using the AutoCAD System for engineering design.
GPS

RBF surveyors began using the Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) Surveying System to increase survey capabilities.

Huntington Beach Wetlands RBF won the Project of the Year Award for its work on the Huntington Beach Wetlands Habitat Restoration.
 
1989
Intergraph

RBF began using the Intergraph CADD system.

RBF won a CCCE&LS Project of the Year Award for the design of Newport Coast Drive.

RBF was the lead consultant for the Public Agencies in reviewing the General Plan for Otay Ranch - a 23,000 acre planned community in San Diego County.
