On May 12, 1999, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Novato distributed to public agencies and the general public the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the proposed Hamilton Field Redevelopment Project. The Draft EIR considered the disposal and reuse of the Navy-owned Department of Defense Housing Facility (DODHF) properties at the Hamilton Army Airfield. The public review period closed on June 28, 1999. A public hearing before the Planning Commission was held on the Draft EIR on June 14, 1999. At that hearing, the Planning Commission directed City Staff to proceed with preparation of the Final EIR. The Final EIR is now complete and is being circulated for public agency review. The next opportunity for public participation will be on August 23, 1999 when the Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the Final EIR.
