Dr. Tom McGill Joins RBF Consulting as Natural Resource Practice Leader

RBF Consulting (RBF), one of the Nation's top Environmental Planning and Civil Engineering firms, announced today that Dr. Tom McGill has joined the Firm as Vice President and Natural Resources Practice Leader. Dr. McGill will be responsible for strategic planning, development and client services to public and private entities in the growing Natural Resources Practice Area.

As the need for sustainable and environmental solutions become paramount in the continued quest of agencies and organizations to integrate human activities and economic progress with the natural environment, RBF Consulting continues to strive to meet those needs with key experts in their fields.

Tom has over 30 years of experience in directing regulatory and biological compliance programs while specializing in Endangered Species Surveys, Habitat Conservation Plans and Biological Assessments under Section 7 of the Federal Endangered Species Act. He is a recognized leader, providing private sector environmental consulting services specializing in environmental documentation involving compliance with state and federal Endangered Species Acts since 1994. His public sector experience includes 15 years working for the U.S. Navy, including six years as a wildlife biologist and 9 years as the Head of Environmental Management for the one million acre facility at the Naval Weapons Center in China Lake, California.

Tom holds a B.A. in Biology from Harvard University, and an M.A. in Ecology and Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of California in Santa Barbara. He is a 20-year member of the California State Bar Association. Tom is also a member of the Association of Environmental Professionals and the Business Development Association of the Inland Empire, and a Past Chairman of the Death Valley Natural History Association. He received the Inland Empire Leaders of Distinction Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004.
