Biologist
Environmental - Irvine, California
Position Description: The Irvine office has an immediate opening for a Biologist to join our team and provide biological assessment and clearances on a variety of projects associated with land development, flood control, restoration, transportation and water resources. As a part of RBF’s Planning team, this person will be a part of a RBF’s Biological and Regulatory Service areas and key support to internal and external clients throughout the western United States. Responsibilities include conducting biological inventories, impact and constraints analysis jurisdictional assessments and delineations; preparing endangered species and regulatory permits; and the preparation of habitat management plan and restoration enhancement plans.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in biology, zoology, wildlife management or botany, a minimum of three years experience in consulting, and knowledge and experience with the Clean Water Act, Federal Endangered Species Act and California Endangered Species Act. Candidate should possess good analytical and communication skills and strong technical writing ability. Position will require fieldwork and occasional travel to northern California, Arizona, and Nevada. Fieldwork may consist of walking, hiking and climbing throughout the day in mixed terrain.
